Summary of Position
The Generosity Minister 2 works as a member of the Mission Funding Team assisting in connecting and engaging with individuals and families between the ages of 46-65 with the goal of opening doors for engagement and connection with the church’s mission that flow into opportunities for generosity. Responsibilities include cultivating relationships with contributors to recognize their true capacity to support and join in shaping the future of Community of Christ; articulating the church’s vision and mission in a way that effectively helps contributors envision the need for and impact of their generosity; collaborating with the Presiding Bishopric and Council of Twelve in development of a case statement; shaping and creating resources that help form generous disciples committed to whole-life stewardship; building relationships with contributors by visiting them in their home and maintaining an open line of communication; matching funding opportunities to contributor passions and altruistic goals; attending field events and providing field ministry and administering the Sacraments where there are opportunities to convey the inextricable link between mission and generosity as way of life.
This IHQ position is on-site preferred, but remote work eligible depending on candidate. Travel required.
Essential Function
- Provides support to the Mission Funding team including strategic planning to assist in funding church mission.
- Clearly articulates a compelling vision and mission for the future of Community of Christ consistent with our identity, message, mission, beliefs and case statement and their connection to generosity.
- Works directly with individuals/families between the ages of 46-65 to help them envision how they can connect with mission and respond through whole-life stewardship.
- Meets fundraising goals by cultivating gifts to the church with a focus on Worldwide Mission Tithes and endowment support.
- Helps develop church wide communications related to generosity and mission.
- Sits as a member of the Mission Funding Council providing ministerial and fundraising activities including stewardship formation ministries.
- Manages and maintains relationships with contributors between the ages of 46-65 including visits in their home and sharing in confidential conversations requiring ministerial sensitivity and pastoral support.
- Attends online and in-person reunions, retreats and training sessions throughout the US field to provide ministry, lead worship and classes and administer the Sacraments where opportunities to convey the inextricable link between mission and generosity are present.
- Supports the Presiding Bishopric in planning, writing, and developing whole-life stewardship resources.
- Matches funding opportunities with contributor passions and goals through partnership opportunities.
- Helps facilitate gift and estate plans with contributors that ensure their goals for supporting mission and the needs of their family are met.
- Remains knowledgeable about the different tools (i.e. IRA gifts, estate plans, endowment gifts, etc.) contributors can use to support the vision and mission of the church.
- Enters and maintains accurate data on contributors in Raiser's Edge database.
- Uplifts and models generosity as a way of life.

Required Trainings
Registered Youth Worker/Anti-harassment Training: New employees are required to be a registered youth worker with Community of Christ or be able to register within 30 days of hire date. Anti-harassment training is also required within 30 days of hire and then required annually.
